Come dance with the RoboStars and see the Young Inventors Expo!

Please join us for the 1st Annual ROBOFEST NYC Celebration! Every child should have an opportunity to explore the creative world of robotics, and RoboFest NYC will bring out the inventor in every child. Hosted at the Sony Wonder Technology Lab in New York City, this day-long event will recognize and celebrate the robotics accomplishments of youth.

FUN, AFFORDABLE, AND EXCITING

We invite kids of all ages and all skill levels to build a robot and showcase it at the Young Inventors Expo and register for the Dancing with the RoboStars Competition. Click here to register your team!

YOUNG INVENTORS EXPO

Join us for a display of robotic projects made by young inventors.  This event is an opportunity for kids to present their robotics creations of all shapes and sizes.  Grab your favorite robotic creation and show it off at the Young Inventors Expo!  Several robots will be awarded medals of distinction for ingenuity, design, and programming, and all inventors will receive an award for participation.  Guest judges will come from the world of engineering and education.  The fee to participate is $25.00 per team.

DANCING WITH THE ROBOSTARS

Can your robots move and groove with the best dancers in town?  Teams of children ages 6 – 12 are invited to register and compete in the competition.  Whether it's from Pokemon or Martha Graham, each team will pick an action packed theme and create their own dance performance. Kids have the option of performing along with their robots or letting the robots perform solo.  Robots of all sizes, shapes and functions are welcome!  The cost to enter the competition is $200.00 per team of up to 10 members, which includes certificates, medals and a T-shirt for each participant. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN COMPETING BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO BUILD A DANCING ROBOT? Vision Education & Media has a group of expert robotics coaches that can mentor your team. For $485 per child, teams of up to 10 children can participate in 8 exciting coaching sessions with a Vision Mentor, who will then guide and support them on the day of the performance competition. ABOUT ROBOFEST

Laura Allen, Director of Vision Ed. Inc. designed ROBOFEST NYC as an opportunity to celebrate creative work by children in the field of robotics. As a pioneer in the field of educational technology for over 25 years, Laura has worked with the seminal figures in the field including Dr. Seymour Papert and Dr. Mitchel Resnick of the MIT Media Lab. Laura believes that creativity is the key to kids diving in and engaging with robotics. Her hands on work with robots has helped to develop the self-esteem, curiosity, academic and artistic focus of hundreds of kids in the New York area. From Scarsdale to the South Bronx, Laura's extensive work with youth has proven that robotics is for everyone, and ROBOFEST will be the first major event to celebrate the creative, non-competitive spirit fostered by playful and collaborative learning.
